Internationalization Mission and Linkages

At Ateneo de Naga University, rooted in the Bicolano spirit of resilience and service, we envision ourselves as a globally connected Jesuit university. Our internationalization (IZN) mission is to nurture transformative partnerships, foster intercultural understanding, and promote collaborative knowledge-sharing that empowers our students, faculty, staff, and communities to contribute meaningfully to a just, sustainable, and innovative world.
In alignment with this mission, we continue to expand and deepen our international partnerships across Asia, Europe, and North America. These strategic linkages are anchored in our Ignatian values and focus on academic exchange, collaborative research, cultural immersion, and service learning.
Among our notable partner higher education institutions are:
- Japan: Bunkyo University, Hiroshima Gakuin JHS and SHS, Notre Dame Seishin JHS and SHS
- China: Quanzhou Normal University and the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange
- South Korea: Choonhae College of Health Sciences and Hanyang University
- USA: University of Kansas
- Germany: Friedrich-Alexander Gymnasium, Neustadt a. d. Aisch (via EPECTO network)
- India: Rosary College of Commerce and Arts
- Indonesia: Sanata Dharma University
- Malaysia: Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation
- Singapore: Reactor School
These partnerships provide us with opportunities for student and faculty mobility, co-curricular collaboration, exposure to diverse pedagogies, and enriching cross-cultural exchanges.
Beyond bilateral partnerships, we are also active members of international academic and mission-driven networks that reinforce our IZN thrust:
- Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific (AJCU-AP)
- Association of Southeast Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU)
- International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU)
- SEA-Teacher Program (under SEAMEO)
These networks support our efforts to internationalize our curriculum, participate in faculty development initiatives, and engage in joint research and service-learning with mission-aligned institutions.
Through our evolving internationalization roadmap, we remain committed to forming globally competent yet locally rooted leaders. We continue to pursue partnerships that are both mission-consistent and future-oriented, bridging cultures, advancing knowledge, and working for a more humane and interconnected world.
