• ADNU-INECAR Conducts Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) Seminar-Workshop for ADNU Staff

The Institute for Environmental Conservation and Research (INECAR) of the Ateneo de Naga University conducted the Waste Analysis Characterization Study (WACS) Seminar-Workshop on April 8, 2025 at the Instructional Media Center (IMC), Phelan Hall, Ateneo de Naga University. This activity is a continued effort to promote proper solid waste segregation within the units and offices of the University.

The activity was participated by 20 personnel coming from 18 different offices in the university and mostly comprised of administrative assistants and office staff. A lone administrator also attended the activity as the topic is very relevant to his office function. The training aimed to deepen institutional understanding of local waste issues and strengthen internal waste segregation efforts in support of the university policy regarding waste

Representatives from the Solid Waste Management Office of the Naga City Government served as the resource speakers. Their discussion centered on the four major categories of solid waste adopted by the city government. They also discussed the corresponding penalties for violation of the ordinances regarding waste management in the city.

Following the main discussion, attendees were divided into small groups for the hands-on workshop on proper waste segregation, fostering practical learning through real-world examples. The program concluded with a presentation of outputs from each group and an open forum, where participants shared insights, raised questions, and discussed implementation strategies within their respective offices.

This activity was facilitated by the seven (7) ADNU Senior High School interns, with guidance from the personnel of INECAR, as part of their training to develop their skills and knowledge in instruction, research, and advocacy.
