2019 Bicol Mathematics Conference
The Department of Mathematics of the College of Science and Engineering, in cooperation with the Ateneo Teacher Training Center, the College of Education, the Graduate School, and the University Research Council, will open its doors on April 4-6, 2019 (Thursday to Saturday) for the 2019 Bicol Mathematics Conference with the theme “#Promoting Mathematical Research” to be held at Fr. Godofredo B. Alingal Hall to serve as an avenue for mathematical research to flourish and enable mathematics teachers, educators, enthusiasts, and researchers to contribute significantly to the advancement of their respective fields of specialization and to the development of the country in general, and of Bicol in particular.
The conference will provide a medium and platform for Bicol mathematics educators and mathematics enthusiasts from public and private secondary and tertiary level schools to interact and share their research and teaching innovations toward the promotion of mathematical research in the region.
Specifically, the conference strives to:
- provide a professional forum for presentation of recent research in the fields of mathematical education, theoretical/pure mathematics, and applied mathematics;
- encourage the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences between and among mathematics educators and researchers;
- present tips, rules and guidelines in manuscript preparation used in local, national, and international arena; and
- enhance the learning experience by offering breakout sessions that educate attendees on the topic of their choice and with consideration of their level of manuscript writing and research in the fields of mathematical education, theoretical/pure mathematics, and applied mathematics.
This event will be honored by the presence of distinguished presenters from University of the Philippines Baguio, Dr. Jerico B. Bacani, from De La Salle University Manila, Dr. Ederlina G. Nocon, and from Ateneo de Naga University, Dr. Joel R. Noche.
