ABOUT CCD

Established in 1981 in response to the 32nd General Congregation of the Society of Jesus, the Social Integration Office (SIO) began as a student extension program under the Ateneo de Naga Research Center, initially focusing on exposures and immersions. In the early 1990s, it shifted its direction toward poverty alleviation and community development. In 1994, it was renamed the Center for Community Development (CCD) to reflect its broader mission.

By 1997, the Community Outreach Program was institutionalized, and in recent years, the National Service Training Program was integrated into the student curriculum. Today, CCD serves as the social involvement arm of Ateneo de Naga University, extending the university’s commitment to nation-building by partnering with communities beyond its campus boundaries.

MISSION

CCD is mandated to develop and implement programs, projects and activities geared toward producing graduates with social orientation and personal commitment to help resolve the social problems of the society.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM.
The CCD provides activities for mass involvement by students, faculty and staff relative to contemporary poverty and justice issues; activities that are conjointly on exposure and a response to the situation of poverty and injustice in Bicol.Program Objectives
By the end of the semester, student participants are expected to:
