As part of XPLORE Bicol 2026, 37 students and 5 faculty members from Xavier School San Juan City took part in a mangrove planting activity in Barangay Belen, Calabanga, on Friday, September 18, in close partnership with the AdNU Junior High School, led by Coordinator for Student Activities and Alumni Relations and Development Office Director, Cris Aian Cabal.

The activity began with a brief orientation by Van Jose Martinez of ADNU-CCD, followed by opening remarks from Barangay Chairman Alvin David. The Samahan ng Maliliit na Mangingisda ng Barangay Belen then provided a hands-on orientation on proper mangrove planting and care. Participants planted 185 Kuyapi, a native mangrove species, and gained a deeper understanding of Belen’s coastal environment and the community’s role in caring for its mangrove ecosystem.
