Naga City, April 29-30, 2026 — Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU), through the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Ateneo Higher Education Health Services Office (AHEHSO), conducted another round of random drug testing as part of its ongoing prevention efforts for the second semester of School Year 2025–2026. The activity was held on April 29–30, 2026, at the Alingal Multipurpose Hall.

A total of 740 or 12.11%  of the student population, took part in the testing. The initiative supports the University’s Drug-Free Campus Program, which focuses on prevention, regular random drug testing, and intervention, aiming to strengthen the university’s response to drug-related concerns.

The testing was carried out in partnership with a Department of Health-accredited laboratory and followed established national guidelines. These include Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as relevant policies from the Commission on Higher Education.

Participants were selected through a secure randomizer program developed by the University’s Management Information System (MIS). This process was facilitated by authorized OSA and AHEHSO personnel and observed by a student representative from the Council of Organizations in Ateneo – Naga (COA-N) to ensure fairness, transparency, and objectivity.

Students who test positive in the initial screening will undergo confirmatory testing. Those with confirmed results will be referred for further assessment and provided with appropriate support and intervention. The University emphasized that all results are handled with strict confidentiality.

Alongside these efforts, ADNU continues to roll out programs and activities that promote awareness, well-being, and a drug-free campus environment.
