13 March 2026 — The Ateneo de Naga University Child Learning Center community organized a very special academic year-ender. Applying the magic of magis to their annual moving-up ceremony, the ACLC community, with the help of basic and higher education members, highlighted the value of creativity and teamwork by producing a children’s play.

To make the project possible, the ACLC collaborated with seasoned theater playwright and director Isbel Borja of the Sangre de Naga Theater Company. The production of choice: a stage adaptation (with a touch of 90s musical) of the children’s book classic Si Emang Enkantada at ang Tatlong Haragan by renowned author and Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards Hall of Famer Rene Villanueva. The choice also supports the university’s environmental advocacy rooted in Laudato Si’.

For weeks, the ACLC teachers and kids immersed themselves in the ways of theater. Everyone was given ample time learning and honing their roles. With the kids taking the stage, the ACLC teachers along with several volunteers handled literal “stagecraft” — from costumes, to props, to stage design. Several teachers also helped with the choreography and stage blocking.

The memorable moving-up ceremony this year proved how much “play & play” critically contribute to community camaraderie and personal formation. Congratulations to the Ateneo de Naga University Child Learning Center for a successful the stage production and moving-up ceremony!
