ADNU-INECAR and Balogo Elementary School Forge New Partnership for DASH App Project

On March 6, 2026, the Institute for Environmental Conservation and Research (INECAR) of Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) officially launched a collaborative initiative with Balogo Elementary School (BES) in Pasacao, Camarines Sur. The event is about the development of the Digital Attendance System for Honesty (DASH) App project, a short orientation on the features and usage of the DASH App, and a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). It was attended by key stakeholders: the DepEd Pasacao District Supervisor, Dr. Cecilia Andrea C. Apolinario; BES faculty members headed by its principal, Ms. Ma. Olivia B. Martillan; Barangay Councilors of Barangay Balogo; Parents headed by their General PTA President; and the INECAR team.

The development of the DASH App is a response to a request from BES to digitize their student attendance systems. By accurately recording daily attendance from Kindergarten through Grade 6, the DASH App will help educators identify and address absenteeism early, ensuring students remain on track. In addition, the transition to a digital system will significantly reduce paper waste and can save the school’s resources. Lastly, this collaboration exemplifies how higher education institutions and local schools can work together to solve community-specific challenges.

This partnership highlights INECAR’s commitment to environmental stewardship by developing digital tools to provide sustainable solutions that protect our environment while enhancing community service.
