The Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School, through the Master of Arts in Nursing and Master in Nursing students (a collaboration of three subject: NSG 607 Seminar in Theoretical Foundations and application to Nursing Practice, NSG 700 Nursing Ethics, NSG 703 Human Relations in Nursing Administration), successfully conducted a wellness and work ethics seminar-workshop titled “Caring Beyond the Wards: Promoting Wellness, Ethical Care, and Positive Human Relations Among Support Personnel.” The activity carried the project theme “We Care for You Too: Promoting Health, Ethics, and Harmony in the Workplace.”
Held on December 7, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Arrupe Convention Hall, the event gathered Velocity personnel, security guards, and Physical Plant Administration (PPA) staff for a half-day session dedicated to enhancing their well-being, work values, and workplace relationships.
Promoting Wellness, Ethics, and Meaningful Connections
The program aimed to build health awareness, promote ethical workplace behavior, and strengthen positive human relations among institutional support personnel. Guided by the Graduate School Nursing students’ community engagement goals, the seminar-workshop served as a practical platform for applying ethical theories, caring frameworks, and relational competencies beyond the clinical setting.

The program was designed to uplift and empower essential members of the community—velocity personnel, security guards, and PPA staff—by highlighting their vital role in creating a culture of care.
The seminar featured three empowering sessions that addressed the core aspects of ethical work, workplace harmony, and personal well-being. The first talk, led by John Walter V. Ragrario, emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and spiritual integrity as guiding principles for delivering honest, responsible, and value-driven service. This was followed by Kenyon Wayne G. Fortuno, RN, who discussed how to cultivate a culture of care, safety, and integrity in the workplace—highlighting accountability, respect, and shared responsibility among employees. The final session, presented by Jasmin C. Galan, RN, focused on self-care and occupational health, reminding participants that caring for oneself is essential in maintaining productivity, safety, and overall wellness at work.
Strengthening the Spirit of Community Care
The activity underscored the university’s commitment to holistic development, not only for students but also for the personnel who keep the institution running every day. Through interactive discussions and workshops, participants expressed appreciation for being recognized and empowered in their roles.

The organizers shared that the project reflects a broader mission: to extend nursing care beyond hospital wards and into the wider community, nurturing wellness, compassion, and dignity in every workplace.
The seminar concluded with messages of gratitude for the unwavering dedication of the support staff—affirming that they, too, are valued members of the Ateneo community.
