ADNU, through its International Programs Officer Dr. Marshal Q. Murillo, participated in the 2025 Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities–Asia Pacific (AJCU–AP) International Networking Officers (INOs) Meeting, a key annual gathering of internationalization leaders from Jesuit higher education institutions across the region. This year’s meeting was hosted by Ateneo de Manila University and was held at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, Rockwell Campus, in Makati City.

The event brought together INO counterparts from Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, East Timor, and the various Ateneo universities in the Philippines. The gathering created a vibrant space for collaboration and mission-driven dialogue. Participants reaffirmed the network’s dedication to addressing pressing global challenges that shape Jesuit higher education today.
The AJCU–AP underscored several thematic priorities for the network: mental health and spiritual well-being, integral ecology, democracy, and the ethical and mission-aligned use of artificial intelligence. Member universities reaffirmed their commitment to advance these advocacies through educational initiatives, research collaborations, and community-engaged programs. These shared efforts help ensure that Jesuit institutions remain responsive and relevant in today’s evolving global landscape.
The meeting also placed strong emphasis on strengthening internationalization initiatives across the AJCU–AP network. INOs expressed solid support for more active participation in key programs such as the Global Leadership Program (GLP), Service Learning Program (SLP), microcredentials, and the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program. Through these initiatives, the network aims to enhance intercultural competence, expand global learning opportunities, and create broader avenues for collaboration among students, faculty, and staff.
Dr. Murillo noted that the insights and commitments gained from the meeting will guide ADNU as it develops more robust and mission-aligned internationalization strategies and program designs.
The event concluded with a Binondo cultural and food crawl, which offered participants a shared cultural experience that showcased Manila’s rich heritage and the Chinese-Filipino historical connection. It served as a meaningful conclusion to a gathering rooted in cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.
