ADNU-CLG Concludes 2025 Capability-Building Training Series with Project Development and Management

The Ateneo de Naga University–Center for Local Governance (AdNU–CLG) successfully concluded its 2025 Capability-Building Training Sessions with the Training on Project Development and Management held on November 13–14, 2025 (8:00 am–5:00 pm; 8:00 am–12:00 pm) via Zoom Cloud Meetings. This two-day online program brought together participants from the academe, local government units, and the private sector across the Bicol region. As the final installment of this training series, the program served as a comprehensive culmination, building on the skills and knowledge developed in previous sessions, and equipping participants to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate development-oriented projects in their respective communities.

The training was handled by resource persons who ensured a structured and practical learning experience. Mr. Juan Raul Ll. Relloso, Faculty Member of the Allied Business Courses Department of the university, as the Lead Facilitator, guided participants through the phases of project development, providing step-by-step explanations and practical examples. Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Director of the Center for Local Governance and Dean of the Graduate School, contributed technical guidance and expert feedback during the sessions. Camille Faye R. Badong facilitated the overall flow of the training, managing activities and supporting participant engagement. The team worked collaboratively to combine conceptual discussions with hands-on exercises, enabling participants to apply their learning effectively.

Training Highlights

The program followed a structured approach aligned with the phases of project development and management. Day 1 commenced with opening preliminaries and focused on the Definition Phase, where participants explored project statements, objectives, work breakdown structures, and resource requirements. The session enabled participants to frame project concepts systematically and consider essential components for successful project planning. During the afternoon session, Mr. Relloso tackled the next session, Planning Phase which covers responsibility assignment matrices, project planning tools, resource scheduling, and analyses of potential problems and opportunities.

On Day 2, participants began with a recapitulation of the previous day’s discussions before moving into the Implementation Phase. This session addressed project execution, monitoring, modifications, and project closeout and evaluation. Interactive discussions and plenary exchanges provided participants with opportunities to clarify concepts, share insights, and translate learning into actionable strategies for their respective institutions.

The training balanced conceptual discussions with practical application, allowing participants to engage with project frameworks while considering their implementation in participant’s respective contexts.
