On 5 September 2025, members of the ADNU community from all academic levels and institutional offices assembled at the University Gym to witness the results of the strategic direction planning sessions from various clusters and committees. The event flow was inspired by the Ignatian prayer examen, and bookended with video highlights and future visions of the university.
Fr. Jose Embile, Jr, SJ, College and Graduate School Chaplain, led the opening invocation. After the prayer, Janet Badong-Badilla, Director of the Office of Mission and Identity and member of the planning committee, shared the fruitful process which began with the university-wide spiritual conversations organized back in February, as well as the follow-up sessions to ensure participation in all areas. Dr. Marshal Murillo, Executive Assistant to the University President and also a member of the planning committee, highlighted the emerging, inter-connected themes rooted in the cluster conversations.

At the core of the program, University President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ provided the Ateneo community with the official directions of StratPlan 2030. They are 21st Century Structures and Systems, Nation-Building, Ignatian Safe Spaces & Formation, and Sustainability. Under each direction are several goals which serve as essential and critical action points in the next five years.

Complementing the strategic plan were reactors from the various community representatives: Computer Studies OIC Dean Joshua Martinez (Smart Campus Committee), University Research Council Director Dr. Victor Loquias (faculty), Ateneo Personnel Club President and University Library staff Lenny Golles (non-teaching personnel), and SHS Assistant Principal for Formation and Student Activities Honesto Bermudo III (basic education).

Concluding the event was a solemn ceremonial offering of ADNU’s strategic directions and goals to Ina, Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

Val Dominic Monit, Chairperson of the Junior High School Formation Program Department, served as the official Emcee.

*After the StratPlan 2030 program, the Human Resource Management Office also launched the revival of the university-wide staff and faculty sports fest.
