AdNU-Graduate School Holds General Faculty Assembly for this Academic Year 2025-2026

The Graduate School Office convened the General Assembly of faculty members on August 23, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Alingal Function Room, 5th floor, Alingal Building. The session started with a Message from the University President, Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, S.J. It was followed by the Introduction of the new Graduate School Lecturers and the sharing of the accomplishments and all the completed activities for the past AY 2024-2025 by Dr. Malu Barcillano, Dean of the Graduate School.

During the assembly, several speakers also presented important updates on various topics and focus areas. First, there was Dr. Ronaldo SP. Elicay, Program Director, who provided the results of the student evaluation of faculty teaching performance for AY 2024-2025. He shared a few feedback from students, specifically the strengths and areas for improvement. Following his presentation, Dr Alma Kay Abarientos, University Librarian, shared data on the Online Utilization Resources of the Graduate School, and walked through the faculty on how to access online library resources. She also gave a brief demonstration of the convenient use of the ADNU Library website. In addition, Dr. Leonor Lynette Mendoza, Director of the Institutional Testing Office and Program Director, provided information on the admission and placement of newly enrolled graduate school students. She highlighted the classifications of students based on their performance and test scores in the entrance exams. Dr. Virna Villanueva, Program Director, shared the document on the Strategic Directions and Goals (SDGs), as well as the action plans and specific strategies to be undertaken by the graduate school.Finally, Dr. Margarita Fajardo, Dean of the Office for Research and Creative Endeavors, discussed the approved university guidelines for the responsible and ethical use of generative artificial intelligence in completing academic work. Further, she discussed the ‘Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Research Efficiency’.  She emphasized the importance of upholding the ethical principles i.e. the values of honesty, accountability and integrity, privacy and confidentiality, particularly in the conduct of research and creative work. She also presented the AdNU-RACE Database on Research.

After all the presentations, there was an open forum where faculty members had the opportunity to ask clarificatory questions and exchange ideas.

The assembly was held with the intent to prepare the graduate school faculty for the new academic year 2025-2026. The faculty members who attended the assembly received the updates well and expressed their appreciation for the guidance, as well as the dedication of the graduate school in delivering quality education and service to students.
