The Graduate School Office conducted an Orientation on the Roles of Advisers, Readers, and Panel members in Thesis/Dissertation Writing last August 16, 2025, 1:30-3:00 pm at the Alingal Function Room. Dr. Ronaldo SP. Elicay, one of the Graduate School Program Directors, served as the resource speaker.

The orientation aimed to inform the graduate school faculty advisers, readers, and panelists of the updates and revisions in the guidelines for thesis/dissertation writing. These include changes in the time allotment for the completion of the panel reviews and the reader’s summary of recommendations and procedures for submitting the manuscript.

Some faculty members who attended the orientation expressed appreciation for the given session as they were given a walk-through of their roles as an adviser, reader, and panel member. Aside from the updates on the guidelines, the faculty members were also informed about the additional remuneration for faculty advisers, in recognition of the time and effort spent on manuscript advising before, during, and after defenses.
