The Ateneo de Naga University-Graduate School recently held a Webinar, “From Research to Publication: Crafting Journal Articles,” featuring the expertise of Prof. Aurelio P. Vilbar. A distinguished professor from the University of the Philippines Cebu and Director of UP-Cebu Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, Prof. Vilbar, expertly guided Ateneo de Naga University researchers on the intricacies of transforming their scholarly work into published journal articles during the virtual event last Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The webinar, moderated by Ms. Marlene A. Ramos, a PhD LLD student at the University, commenced with opening remarks highlighting the importance of academic contribution. The Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, delivered a welcome message, followed by an introduction of Prof. Vilbar by the Program Director, Dr. Virna S. Villanueva.
The core of the session was Prof. Vilbar’s insightful lecture, in which he demystified the academic publishing process. He emphasized the necessity of clear structure in scholarly writing and provided practical advice on manuscript organization for a logical flow. His guidance aimed to equip attendees with the skills to present their research compellingly and rigorously.
