Operations & Systems Management Class of the AdNU-GS Capacitates Bicol IT Professionals

The Operations and Systems Management Class (MBA233/MMBA213 N1) of the Graduate School conducted a Service-Learning Activity (SLA) through a Webinar entitled “From Developer to Decision Maker: Mastering Business Fundamentals.  It was held on March 15, 2025, and it was a remarkable success, bringing together over 70 professionals from Bicol IT in an insightful discussion on business fundamentals and operations management. This academic-industry collaboration provided a platform for participants to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world business applications.

The said activity which was organized under the guidance of Dr. Malu Barcillano, Dean of the Graduate School aimed to equip attendees with a deeper understanding of operations management principles, strategic decision-making, and leadership skills. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with Bicol IT.

The webinar explored key areas of operations management, including planning, inventory control, quality assurance, and efficient scheduling. Further, the participants gained insights into effective resource management, process optimization, and strategic thinking which are essentials for enhancing operational efficiency and driving business success.

Toward the end, the webinar provided an interactive platform for attendees to engage with the speakers by asking critical questions and exchanging ideas on real-world business challenges. It concluded with inspiring remarks from Mr. Ismael Jerusalem, President of Bicol IT organization underscoring the significance of industry-academic collaborations in professional growth.

The success of this event highlights the Ateneo de Naga University’s commitment to fostering industry-ready professionals through collaborative and experiential learning. By equipping industry professionals with essential business insights, the university strengthens its role in bridging academia and real-world practice. With an ever-evolving business landscape, such initiatives empower individuals to adapt, innovate, and lead in their respective fields.
