Ateneo de Naga University – Graduate School (ADNU-GS), in collaboration with the Institutional Research Ethics Committee (IREC) and the Office of the Dean for Research and Creative Endeavors conducted an Orientation on Ethical considerations in Research and Intellectual Property, respectively on March 1, 2025.
The first session, held from 12:00 NN to 2:30 PM, provided faculty and student researchers with an in-depth discussion of the IREC review process. The speakers were Richard Martin C. Bautista who discussed the Importance and Principles of Research Ethics Review as well as the Consent Checklist and Informed Consent Form; Jonafel G. Singson, covered the Types of Research Review; and Dr. Jesus Cyril M. Conde, elaborated on the Protocol Reviewer Worksheet and Vulnerability in Research.
The participants were also guided on how to properly accomplish IREC forms and meet submission requirements.
Following this, orientation on Intellectual Property was conducted in partnership with the Office of the Dean for Research and Creative Endeavors from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Joatham Anry T. Genovis, Intellectual Property Officer, served as the resource speaker to provide insights on protecting research outputs and innovations.
The event was participated by graduate students and faculty members. This activity aimed to reinforce the university’s commitment to promoting ethical research practices and intellectual property awareness among its academic community.
