The Office of the Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School, conducted the Lecture on Classroom Assessment in Flexible Learning on 12 October 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00NN at AL211A/CSLAB1, 2nd Floor, Fr. Godofredo Alingal, S.J. Hall, Ateneo de Naga University.

Dean Barcillano introduced the Resource Speaker, Joshua C. Martinez, the OIC-Dean of the College of Computer Studies. Martinez discussed the main objective of the lecture which is to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively leverage EdTech Tools for assessing learning outcomes in the context of flexible learning. He also emphasized the importance of technology in Classroom Assessment by discussing the Learning Management System, Strategies and Techniques in Assessment, and the criteria for selecting appropriate EdTech Tools for specific educational contexts and needs of the students.

Moving forward, Martinez started by introducing the Learning Management System, an application/platform where educators can create, organize, and deliver content, as well as monitor and assess students’ progress. Through LMS, students can also access course materials, participate in activities and assignments, and engage in discussions. He also demonstrated various EdTech interactive and engaging tools that the faculty can use to facilitate lessons wherein students can actively participate. Throughout the lecture, Mr. Martinez gave hands-on activities to the participants to walk them through each process and make sure that they would fully grasp the context by having their first-hand experience using these tools and at the same time experiencing it from the students’ point of view.

After the presentation, there was an allotted time for Q & A for the participants to raise their questions, clarifications, or feedback. The assembly was concluded with a group photo.
