The Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School’s Office conducted the Faculty Assembly on September 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM via Google Meet. The assembly shifted to an online modality due to the suspension of classes by the Local Government Unit of Naga City through Executive Order No. 2024-018.
The program was hosted by Dr. Ma. Filipinas H. Bana, which started with an Opening Prayer and then a message from Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, University President. Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Dean of the Graduate School, introduced the office personnel, program directors, guidance counselors, and the newly invited lecturers. She also presented various updates such as the accomplishments for the 2nd semester SY 2023-2024 and Intersession SY 2024-2025, Graduate school students’ online evaluation results on faculty and classroom performance, profile of graduate school entrance examinees, and enrollment figures.
There were also two resource speakers during the assembly, it started with Dr. Alfredo C. Fabay, Vice-President for Higher Education, with a topic on “Directions of the Graduate School Towards Quality Assurance” in which he discussed and elaborated further on the necessary steps on how to prepare for the upcoming PAASCU Accreditation. In line with Dr. Fabay’s presentation, Dr. Rebecca C. Torres, who is also one of the resource speakers, talked about “Sharing Experiences on Accreditation using Onsite and Blended Modalities” wherein she shared her experiences on accreditation for the information and awareness of the faculty on how the school, faculty and students are evaluated under the areas and standards of the PAASCU new instrument and also to arrive at a recommendation on what modality will be used for the upcoming PAASCU visit in 2025.
There was an open forum after the presentations for the faculty to raise their concerns or suggestions. The assembly concluded with a group photo.
