AdNU-CLG and MEPO Reunite for Visioning Workshop, Reflecting on Five Years of Progress

The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance, led by its Director, Dr. Malu Barcillano and assisted by Ms. Camille Faye Badong, wrapped up its two-day Mission and Vision Assessment Workshop with the Market Enterprise and Promotions Office of the Local Government of Naga City under the leadership of Mr. Ramon Florendo last June 13-14, 2024 at Diana Hall, Villa Caceres Hotel.

On its opening day, the workshop was graced by Hon. Nelson Legacion, the City Mayor, where he highlighted in his speech the remarkable contributions and public service of Naga City People’s Mall in the city government of Naga.

Esteemed panel of speakers who are undeniably experts in their respective fields allowed participants to view business and market from macro to micro level provoking insights on the following topics: 1.) Business Development in the Local Arena vis-a-vis the ASEAN countries by Mr. Jay Percival Ablan, Provincial Director of DTI-Camarines Sur; 2.) Business Development in Naga City by Mr. James Nathaniel Refugio, Economic Specialist from LGU-Naga City; and lastly 3.) Conversation with an inspiring Entrepreneur, Mr. Edilberto Conag ‘Eddieboy’ Magno III as the CEO and Founder of NUECA Technologies, Inc.

In its workshop proper, representatives from Naga Market Stallholders Federation (NAMASFED), Naga City People’s Mall Credit Cooperative (NACIPEMCO), Market Enterprise and Promotions Office (MEPO) and Naga City People’s Mall (NCPM) sectoral leaders assessed and looked back on their current realities through SWOT analysis. Moreover, this process paved the way to revisit their current mission and vision statements where the group agreed to add in salient pillars in alignment to the city government’s thrust and in consonance to the digital era. During the workshop’s concluding day, participants successfully completed a strategic plan from their identified programs, projects and activities for 2024-2028.

This activity is a follow-through from the Mission and Vision Workshop last 2019 with the MEPO, NAMASFED, NACIPEMCO and their sectoral leaders.
