6 June 2024 the Ateneo de Naga University and the Environmental Management Bureau V (EMB V) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources V (DENR) met for the signing of the memorandum of agreement for the relocation of the ambient air quality monitoring station in Naga City.

The Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station in Naga City is one (1) of three (3) automated monitoring stations in the whole region. This automated AAQMTS reflects real time data of the air quality, albeit there are other monitoring stations deployed in other areas and provinces in the region, those are manual data recorder types.  The air quality monitoring station will show the air quality in Naga City in real time and the data can be correlated to the health and well-being of its people. It is also important since Naga City is also declared as one (1) of 22 airsheds in the Philippines. It was established in 2003 through the DENR Memorandum Circular No. 2003-13 series of 2003.
