The Ateneo de Naga University-Graduate School Guidance Office conducted an enhancement session entitled “Academic Acrobatics: Mastering the Art of Balance and Adaptation in Graduate School” on 27 April 2024, Saturday via Zoom and YouTube live.
This enhancement session helped participants reflect on their graduate school experience and realize that it is about thriving rather than surviving. It was attended by about a hundred total registered Graduate School students.
Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Dean, Graduate School showed her support for the activity by emphasizing the importance of helping students understand how to balance and adapt to graduate school, recognizing that these skills are essential not only for academic success but also for personal and professional development in their future careers.
The resource speaker was Ms. Ma. Kiara Sapinoso-Deligencia, the Director of the Center for Guidance Services in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Nabua. She discussed the importance of mastering the art of balance by juggling roles and staying flexible. Learning time management, prioritizing well-being, and keeping goals in sight are key. She also emphasizes the need to practice self-care and seek supportive networks.
During the open forum, graduate school guidance counselor Ms. Maria Ardelya A. Delos Santos read the queries of the participants, and were answered by Ms. Ma. Kiara.
Mr. John Michael M. Revilla, as one of the guidance counselors at the Ateneo Graduate School Guidance Office, encourages students to utilize the various counseling services offered, emphasizing the wide range of support options available to them.
The webinar was successfully concluded and facilitated by the graduate school and guidance office staff of Ateneo de Naga University. Further, the online activity was operated with the assistance of some technical support staff and Desktop Support Personnel.
