The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) conducted the Webinar on “EmpowerHER: Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Governance” on March 22 , 2024 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm live via AdNU-CLG social media accounts.
In the pursuit of gender equality and women’s empowerment, it is essential to recognize the pivotal role that women play in governance at various levels, particularly within local government units (LGUs). Women’s participation in decision-making processes not only fosters inclusivity and empowerment, thus breaking gender roles in local governance.
The webinar seeks to inspire and bring action in other communities striving to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in governance. By highlighting concrete examples of success and sharing practical insights and lessons learned, the webinar aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to replicate and adapt similar approaches in their respective contexts.
Atty. Mila S.D Raquid-Arroyo, of Raquid-Arroyo Law Office & Consultancy Services serves as the resource speaker and begins by delving into the inspiring history of a woman championing their field in various sectors.
