AdNU and ASPAP Reach Finale Episode on Webinar Series via Social Involvement Session

The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) together with the Graduate School and in partnership with the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines, Inc. conducted the Webinar Series on Navigating the Pedagogy of Public Administration in the New Normal with its last session focusing on Social Involvement entitled “Transcending Theories to Applications Through Service Learning ” on November 10 , 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am live via AdNU-CLG social media accounts.   

In the field of public administration, this webinar aims to unlock theoretical understanding and practical implementation in public administration through service learning. Moreover, the session fosters a dynamic approach to addressing contemporary issues and challenges.

Dr. Erwin Gaspar Alampay, Deputy Secretary General of the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines, Inc. (ASPAP, Inc.), College Secretary of the Center for Public Administration and Governance Education at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) at the University of the Philippines-Diliman delivered a warm and motivational opening message.

Dr. Leonora C. Angeles, Director of the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice, and Associate Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies Undergraduate Program at the University of British Columbia as the resource speakers covered the dynamic interplay between social programs and service learning, highlighting the ability of all parties to work together to overcome changing obstacles in the complicated environment of today. Furthermore, to unearth useful knowledge and tactics for maximizing the combined potential to raise the significance and efficacy of public administration initiatives.

The open forum was moderated by Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Public Information Officer of Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines, Inc. (ASPAP, Inc.), Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of the Center for Local Governance at Ateneo de Naga University, where the virtual space was flooded with thought-provoking questions regarding applied best practices, importance, key points, and principles about public administration.

On record, the said webinar was attended by more than a thousand combined viewers both on AdNU Center for Local Governance Facebook Page and Ateneo CLG YouTube channel with participants representing various sectors as well as students and faculty members from schools and universities across the country.

The webinar was hosted by Mr. Charles Michael G. Salas, a Graduate School Student from the Master of Public Administration and Master in Business Administration Cluster of Ateneo de Naga University

The webinar was successfully concluded with support from the technical team at the James O’Brien Library namely, Sherwin Perez and Emmanuel Llorin (led by Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian).
