AdNU-CLG Concludes Webinar Series on Replicable Practices on Local Governance via a Study on Iriga City

The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) fervently unlocked the final episode of the Webinar Series on Replicable Practices on Local Governance featuring the Seal of Good Local Governance 2022 awardee, the CIty of Iriga last October 27,2023 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm via ZOOM Cloud Meetings.

The webinar series aims to showcase and disseminate the strategies employed by Iriga City and also to impart knowledge and to serve as an inspiration to other Local Government Units (LGUs) for them to adapt similar practices for the benefit of communities.

The webinar began in the virtual presence of Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Director of the Center for Local Governance and the Dean of the Graduate School, where she delivered a warmly opening message.

Hon. Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva, the Mayor of Iriga City, Camarines Sur, eloquently elaborated on the city’s remarkable best practices during the presentation. He shed light on how Iriga City excelled in areas related to planning, budgeting, preparation, and public services, among others, as well as inspiring others to enhance their governance strategies. He highlighted the city’s commitment to local administration and dedication to fostering a prosperous community.

The webinar was moderated by Ms. Claire B. Palomares, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) Student of the ADNU-Graduate School where the ZOOM session was inundated with thought provoking interactions and insightful questions concerning implementation, best practices, success in local governance from participants addressed to Mayor Oliva.

The said webinar was attended by almost a hundred registered participants representing the local government units, national government agencies, and other sectors as well as students and faculty members from various schools and universities across the country.

The webinar was successfully concluded with the assistance of the technical support staff of the James O’Brien Library namely, Sherwin Perez and Emmanuel Llorin (led by Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian).
