AdNU-CLG Highlights Best Practices of LGU Goa in Episode Two of the Webinar Series

The Ateneo de Naga University through the Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) successfully presented the episode two of the Webinar Series on Replicable Practices on Local Governance featuring the Galing Pook 2022 awardee, the Municipality of Goa last September 29, 2023 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm via ZOOM Cloud Meetings.

The webinar series serves as a valuable platform for leaders and young professionals to gain practical knowledge and draw inspiration from the experiences of award-winning Local Government Units (LGUs). By Showcasing the successes and strategies of these distinguished LGUs will enable them to drive positive change in their communities.

The webinar commenced with Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Director of the Center for Local Governance and Dean of the Graduate School, warmly delivering the opening message in the virtual presence.

Hon. Marcel S. Pan, the Municipal Mayor of the Local Government Unit of Goa, Camarines Sur detailed the triumphs of LGU Goa’s programs and projects, showcasing their recognition as a Galing Pook 2022 awardee. The programs, especially the remarkably sustainable TUCAD initiative, captivated attention. Moreover, projects and initiatives like the solar-powered water system, the Tabang Banwaan of Goa, the Sitio Governance, and the determined educational undertakings of the Municipality demonstrate their unwavering commitment to uplifting the community and ensuring the well-being of its residents.

Mr. Jett Mediatrix Bryan M. Sur, a Master in Public Administration (MPA) Student of the ADNU-Graduate School, moderated the open forum during the ZOOM session. Attendees flooded the session with insightful inquiries delving into LGU of Goa’s best practices, strategies, and various aspects of the Municipality of Goa’s initiatives in good governance. These inquiries were directed towards Hon. Pan.

The webinar saw a turnout of almost a hundred registered participants coming from diverse backgrounds including local government unit’s officials and employees, national government agencies, and various sectors. Additionally, students and faculty members from numerous schools and universities across the country were also in attendance.

The webinar wrapped up with support from the technical team at the James O’Brien Library namely, Sherwin Perez (led by Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian).
