Ateneo de Naga University, through the College of Science, Engineering and Architecture, proudly announces the successful conclusion of the opening and MOA signing ceremony of the Naga City IoT Laboratory. Funded by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and established in partnership with Ateneo de Naga University, ThingsPH, Inc., Packetworx, Inc., and LGU-Naga, The event is significant milestone in the city’s journey towards technological advancement.

The ceremony, which took place on July 18, 2023, 9:00 AM, at the 4th Floor of the Dolan Building, Ateneo de Naga University, was graced by dignitaries, distinguished guests, and representatives from various government agencies, academic institutions, and industry leaders. It celebrated the successful establishment of the IoT Laboratory and emphasized the strong alliances built among the collaborating partners.

The Naga City IoT Laboratory is a testament to the city’s commitment to embracing innovation and technology-driven solutions. The laboratory, envisioned as a hub of innovation, research, and development, is poised to drive progress and address societal challenges through the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

 

The event was honored by the presence of representatives from key government agencies, including the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the local government unit of Naga City and its Investment Board (NCIB). Their participation underscores the shared vision of utilizing technology to drive economic development and foster progress in the region.

The Higher Education Institutions (HEI) representatives from the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC), Bicol State College of Applied Science and Technology (BISCAST), and the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) were present, showing their commitment to advancing education and research in the field of technology.

In addition to the government agencies and HEIs, members of the community were delighted to welcome the representatives of the Startup Development Committee (SDC), BEECALL TBI and HAKA Naga.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the representatives of Ateneo de Naga University, ThingsPH, Inc., Packetworx, Inc., LGU-Naga, and NEDA, stood united in cutting the ribbon. This symbolic gesture signified their dedication to working hand in hand towards the advancement of IoT technology and underscored the significance of this collaboration in driving innovation and making a positive impact on the community.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the participants moved to the Madrigal Amphitheater for the MOA signing. The ceremonial MOA signing solidified the commitment of all partners to collaborate and leverage their expertise to advance IoT technology in Naga City and beyond.

 

The event concluded with a shared sense of accomplishment and a vision for the future, where multi-agency partnerships built on mutual trust and dedication will continue to propel the Naga City IoT Laboratory towards success.
