The first course on Bridging Leadership focused on “The Societal Inequities and My Personal and Our Shared Response” was conducted on July 6 and 7, 2023 via ZOOM Cloud Meeting. The course allowed the participants to understand social inequities and the relevance of one’s personal and our shared response to these societal concerns using Bridging Leadership. They were guided on how to acquire the skill and imbibe Bridging Leadership.
The trainers for the said course were Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Director of Center for Local Governance and Dean of the Graduate School, Mr. Francisco Rico U. Raquitico, Faculty of the Graduate School, Mr. Ryan Giancarlo D. Macandog, College Faculty of the Business Management Courses Department, and with the special participation of Dr. Anne Marie F. Bagadion, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy, as the resource speaker. The attendees consist of members from the academe, from the public and private sector, and from the Local Government Units.
With the aim to share the inputs and experience of being a leader and how it takes to be one, the first topic during Day 1 covered the economic and social situation. It was followed by the discussion on understanding social inequities.
The succeeding sessions tackled the concept of Bridging Leadership, one’s leadership journey and personal purpose and Leadership Capital.
On the second day of the Webinar, the following topics were discussed: Systems Thinking, Dialogue and Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry.
With the assistance of the Fr. James O’Brien Library’s technical support staff, Sherwin Perez and Emmanuel Llorin (headed by Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian) the first topic on the online certificate course on bridging leadership was conducted successfully.
