Graduate School Guidance Office Conducts Enrichment Sessions for Graduate Students

One of the functions of the Guidance Office is to assist GS students based on Christian values and Ignatian excellence with interventions towards self-awareness and understanding, adjustments in different situations, and decision-making.  With this, the Office offered its clientele two (2) enrichment sessions for this academic year 2022-2023.

The first was a lecture workshop entitled 101: CBT for Stress Management.”  This activity generally aimed to orient students in managing their stress and regaining control of their stressful situation using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques.

This activity was held last March 18, 2023, from 10:00am to 12:00nn via Google Meet and YouTube Live. There were 127 graduate school students and faculty members who participated in the said activity.    The resource speaker was Ms. Sena S. Salcedo, RPsy, a Chief Psychologist of Betterteem, where she helped address employees’ mental health issues by designing appropriate interventions for the company.  She is also a Volunteer Psychologist for St. Arnold Center for Integral Development and Mental Health First Responder.  Lastly, she is a Certified Life Coach from Transcend Life Solutions, a Mental Health Advocate, and a Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) member.

The second was a lecture discussion entitled 102: Sustainable Life Balance for Graduate School Students.”  This activity generally aimed to guide students in managing their time and maintaining a work-life balance while studying.

This was held via Zoom last April 1, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00pm.   There were 93 graduate school students and faculty members who attended the activity.  The resource speaker was Ms. Catherine A. Bobis, MA, a full-time retired Ateneo de Naga University professor and currently working as a part-time Counseling Psychologist at ADNU Center for Psychological Services (CPS).

The Guidance Office regularly updates its Graduate School Guidance Office Site (https://tinyurl.com/GS-Guidance-Site) to broaden and strengthen its relationship with the members of the graduate school community.  On the Site, graduate school students can avail of the various guidance services the Guidance Office offers.  Moreover, they can also view the replay videos of the enhancement sessions at their most convenient time.
