The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG), offered an ‘Online Certificate Course’ on Project Development and Management on March 23-24, 2023 duly endorsed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region 5 (DILG-RV).
Project management is a critical function in any organization, as it involves the planning, organizing, and controlling of resources to achieve specific goals and objectives. Effective project management requires a combination of technical skills, such as scheduling, budgeting, and risk management, as well as interpersonal skills, such as communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, the Director of the Center for Local Governance and the Dean of the Graduate School, served as one of the trainers for the 1st day session of training. Dr. Barcillano discussed and went over every detail of Project statement, Project objectives, Responsibility Assignment Matrix which covers the Workshop 6, and Project planning tools. Further, Dr. Malu served as the moderator of the whole online certificate training course.
Juan Raul Relloso, a College faculty at Ateneo de Naga University and the former Chairperson of Business Management Courses under College of Business Administration, is one of the trainers for the whole session which covered in depth discussion of the Definition, Planning, and Implementation Phase of the project development and Management specifically, he discussed the following subtopics on : Work Breakdown Structures, Resource Requirements and Scheduling, Potential Problem and Opportunity Analysis, and the Start to Implement Project, Monitoring Project, Modification Closeout and Evaluate. Also, Mr Relloso handled the Workshop he provided regarding the topics he tackled.
Further, Juan Raul Relloso facilitated the open forum. The trainer was gracious in responding to each question that was posted in the ZOOM chat window after receiving multiple inquiries.
Camille Faye R. Badong, a Technical Staff from AdNU’s Center for Local Governance, facilitated the recapitulation portion of the training to be guided in the morning session. The attendees graciously responded to each inquiry made during the ZOOM plenary.
On the second day of the Online Certificate Course, Jay-Ar Bernardez, Technical Staff from AdNU’s Center for Local Governance, started the program with an opening prayer. He also facilitated the online Ice Breaker during the online training.
Using ZOOM Cloud Meetings, the Online Certificate Course was held on March 23 and 24, 2023, with 14 registered participants from different academic institutions, public organizations, and government sectors across the country. Participants included faculty, professors, government employees, and barangay officials from various regions of the nation.
Additionally, the successful implementation of the online training was made possible through the assistance of the technical team from Fr. James O’Brien Library, specifically Sherwin Perez under the guidance of Ms. Edna San Buenaventura (the University Librarian).
