Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) college student leaders served as volunteers in organizing the recently concluded national Interactive Youth Forum (IYF) 2023 at Venus Parkview Hotel in Baguio City.

The ADNU student volunteers were Mary Jenica Robles, Amethyst Claudia Moran, Zeth Navales, Joshua Rene Matamorosa, and Pauline Jean Barcia. They were involved in the practical details of this year’s IYF, from the preparations to the actual implementation of the event on March 9 to 11. They designed the tote bags, ID, and other pubmats and collaterals; helped facilitate the onsite registration, assisted in the speakers’ presentations, and documented the proceedings; and created social media group that facilitated interactions between and among the participants. They performed other tasks in assisting the national officers of the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS) in the three-day engagement.

Outside the formal program, the ADNU students had an informal conversation with Silliman University students. During the closing program, some of the volunteers even led 300+ participating student leaders and practitioners in their Batch Dance (Kabataang Pinoy).

The five student volunteers were tapped by ADNU Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Director Rodolfo “Sonny” Virtus Jr., PAPSAS, Inc. Region 5 President and National Public Relations Officer. He is the Chairperson of the two rounds of IYF this year. Janice Tresvalles, ADNU OSA’s Program Officer for Student Welfare, Safety and Ethics and PAPSAS, Inc. member, also served as an organizing staff of the event.

The IYF is the flagship student development program of PAPSAS, Inc. The March 2023 event was the 14th installment of the program, and the first face-to-face run after two years of virtual implementation in the pandemic.

Due to insistent public demand, a second run has been scheduled on April 20 to 22, 2023.
