On September 23, 2022, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) organized the first face-to-face Student Organizations’ Conversation Circle (Convo Circle) for School Year 2022-2023, after running the regular program virtually during the pandemic. Members of recognized student organizations gathered at the Arrupe Convention Hall on campus to listen, share, and engage in prayer and conversation.
The latest iteration of the Convo Circle series recorded the most number of participants in the program’s history, with 127 students from 24 recognized co-curricular, extra-curricular/interest and volunteer groups, and student council.
The event featured Paul John Legaspi, ADNU alumnus and Investment Marketing Officer of the Naga City Government, who shared his experiences of volunteerism and leadership, and the opportunities and learning that he gained from his involvements in student organizations. Furthermore, he also related how his practice of service in ADNU helped shape his decision to work in the local government and contribute to social development. He ended his sharing by giving advice to the participants as they start or continue their leadership journey.
With initial inputs and guide from Niño Peñaredondo of the College Campus Ministry, the students went to their small groups. Here, they shared their feelings and thoughts to describe their experiences in their respective student organizations, whether as new or old members; they articulated their expectations and plans to grow in their groups.
The small group conversations were deepened in a formative processing session and examen by Campus Minister Peñaredondo.
The next schedule of the Convo Circle shall be announced by ADNU OSA.
