The Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School (ADNU GS) organized this year’s research colloquium via ZOOM Cloud Meetings with the theme “Towards a Robust Culture of Graduate School Research”. This was held last May 14, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. This annual colloquium is conducted with three objectives: (1) showcase the Graduate School’s multidisciplinary research works and their research expertise; (2) encourage GS faculty members and students to explore interdisciplinary discourse and dialogue; and (3) promote an ethical and collaborative research culture among GS faculty and students.
Ms. Arlene Andes, a Ph.D. student, moderated the said event. The program commenced with welcome messages from Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Dean of Graduate School, and Dr. Federico Jose Lagdameo, Chair of University Research Council. This was followed by the paper presentations of the invited Graduate School faculty members.
The faculty presenters were Dr. Michael Clores (Population dynamics and keystonesses in intertidal Seagrasses Meadows of Maqueda Channel, Caramoan Peninsula, Philippines), Dr. Peñafrancia V. Olayon-Reyta (Exploring the concepts of multimodality in developing a multimodal assessment framework), Dr. Kevin E. Dayan (Authorial presence in ESL academic writing: A Study of the use of interactional metadiscourse by postgraduates), Ms. Frances Michelle Nubla (Women’s economic participation in a small-island community: Enabling factors), Dr. Marshal Murillo (A sustainable framework for community extension Program: A qualitative look at ADNU College of Nursing’s community extension program), and Mr. Victor John Loquias (An “Igo” asin”Sukat”bilang mga konseptong Etikal -“Igo” and “Sukat” as Ethical Concepts).
After the paper presentations, few minutes was allotted for the open forum followed by the awarding of certificates to the presenters. Dr. Virna S. Villanueva, Graduate School Program Director, and Dr. Margarita Felipe-Fajardo, Dean of Research and Creative Endeavors, concluded the colloquium with their closing messages.
This online research colloquium was participated by more than 100 Graduate School students and faculty members.
