AdNU-CLG Conducts Online Certificate Course on ‘Data-Driven Storytelling’

The AdNU-CLG has just finished its two-day Online Certificate Course 6 entitled “Data-Driven Storytelling“ conducted via Zoom Cloud Meetings on May 19 & 20, 2022.

Dr. Marshal P. Murillo, Deputy Director of Centerfor Local Governance, and Mr. John Sixto G. Santos, Faculty of Computer Science Departmen, served as the moderator and trainers on the online course. Before the event formally started, Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Dean of Graduate School and Director of Center for Local Governance, presented the CLG’s Vision and Mission including its goals and objectives of the Center for Local Governance (CLG).

The online certificate course introduces the basics of information design and data visualization with the goal of better communicating knowledge gathered from data both to the public and experts.

Further, the activity is focused on data visualization and infographic development that allow participants to use basic knowledge on how to simplify complex data while keeping relevant and true to the facts.



The activity ended with a group photo and certificate of appreciation was awarded to the Course Trainer Mr. John Sixto G. Santos and Certificate of Participation was given to all participants, as well.


The conduct of the said activity was made possible in coordination with the technical support personnel, namely, Sherwin Perez and Emmanuel Llorin of the Fr. James O’Brien, S.J. Library with the support from Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, University Librarian.
