The Ateneo de Naga University-Graduate School (ADNU-GS), in coordination with the Office of Mission and Identity (OMI), organized an ONLINE IGNATIAN RETREAT with the theme “Finding God in All Things” on 13 November 2021, from 8:00am until 5:00pm via Zoom.
This School Year 2021-2022, with the University’s shift to the flexible learning modality, the Open-Preached Retreat was conducted online, with periods of silent reflection. The Retreat Directors were Fr Harvey C. Mateo, S.J., Chaplain of Pacol Campus (AdNU), and Fr. Celerino M. Reyes, S.J., Assistant Director for Pastoral Programs of the Office of Mission and Identity (AdNU).
The spiritual formation is required for all MAED and MA Philo students taking the Ignatian Philosophy of Education (JED200) and Ph.D. LLD students taking Characteristics of Jesuit Education (CJE500). However, the retreat was also open to other interested Graduate School students though not enrolled in JED/CJE courses this semester. There were one hundred thirty (130) participants who joined in the said spiritual formation.
Aside from the Professors of the JED/CJE classes, namely, Janet Badilla, Rosendo Badilla, Maria Liwayway De los Trino, Dr. Rebecca Torres, the following facilitators assisted in the Small Group Sharing and Spiritual Conversation: Fatima May Alarcon, Ramon Almoneda, Eric Val Baduria, Alyza Marie Betito, Julma Bonnevie, Judith Vergel De Dios, Juan Carlos De Los Reyes. Ellinore Espedido, Marie Elaine Florece, Val Dominic Monit, Niño Peñaredondo, Francisco Rico Raquitico, Elizaldy Raro, Cristine Refuerzo, John Michael Revilla, Gloria San Antonio, and Salve Yamson.
Further, the retreat would not have been possible without the great assistance of the OMI Team headed by Janet B. Badilla and her hardworking and efficient staff, namely, Tanya De Los Trino, Joy Adrados, and Sherry Calisura. And the activity was done with the support of Dr. Malu Barcillano, Dean of the Graduate School, with her Administrative Assistant, Christaine Mae Bael.
Indeed, the Ateneo de Naga University is committed to the students’ academic development and spiritual formation.
