AdNU-CLG Conducts a Webinar for the Upcoming 2022 Election

In preparation for the upcoming 2022 Election, the Ateneo de Naga University – Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) conducts its 10th webinar entitled ‘CALL OF DUTY’: A Technical Game Plan for Election 2022 held on the 5th of March 2021. By utilizing the digital platform which is the Zoom Cloud Meeting for the live streaming of said webinar to Ateneo CLG’s social media accounts, it was successfully broadcasted to registered participants and other viewers.

The speaker, Atty. Maico T. Julia, Jr., Election Officer IV of Commission on Elections(COMELEC) – Naga City, shared and well-discussed the importance and responsibilities of voters as stated in the constitution. Further, he proposed some of the technicalities, such as processes and important details about the upcoming election. The history of Philippine Elections and the shifting to the accurate Automated Election was also emphasized.

In addition, a video showing the process of online voting registration was presented. At the end of the talk, an open-forum was done to respond to the questions raised by the participants which was facilitated by Dr. Malu C. BarcillanoDirector of Center for Local Governance.

The participants of the webinar comprise different sectors such as the Academe, Government, Public Private Organizations and most especially newly registered voters.

Moreover, the live streaming was operated with collaborative assistance of technical support team composed of Mr. Sherwin B. Perez and Mr. Emmanuel P. Llorin of the James J. O’Brien, S.J. Library (headed by the University Librarian, Ms. Edna M. Buenaventura).

With the continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a challenge for us to choose what is right and what is just, for the betterment of our country, and its people.
