AdNU-CLG Takes Part in the Webinar Series: “Are We Going Online?”

As we adapt with the effects of the new normal on education, the Master of Public Management Program (MPM), UP Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Management and Development Studies and the Association of Schools Public Administration in the Philippines, Inc. (ASPAP, Inc.) concluded the webinar series on Public Administration and Governance Education During the Time of New Normal entitled ”Are We Really Going Online?” last 24 June 2020 with its last topic ‘Online Tutoring/Support and Assessment: Requirements and Challenges”.

Two out of three webinar topics offered were facilitated by the Ateneo de Naga University, represented by Dr. Malu C. Barcillano holding the position of Public Information Officer for ASPAP, Inc.

First of which was conducted last 10 June 2020 focusing on ‘Open and Distance e-Learning in Philippine Public Administration Governance Education: Practices and Lessons’. The webinar was composed of two lectures: 1.) discussing the realities, reflections and reimaging of Public Administration/Governance Education in the Philippines by Assistant Prof. Juvy Lizette M. Gervacio, Program Chair of MPM, UPOU and Treasurer of ASPAP, Inc., and 2.) the open and distance e-learning practices and lessons by Dean Antonius Umali, Program Chair of MPA-PUP OUS, Asst. Prof. Jerome Dumlao, Chief of Instructional Media and Development Office- PUP OUS, with Asst. Prof Juvy Lizette M. Gervacio. The second of the webinar series was recently conducted last 17 June 2020 with the topic ‘Instructional Design and Content Development for Public Administration/Governance Programs’.

For the last webinar, Asst. Prof. Merlyn Paunlagui, Prof. Tricia Ascan and Dr. Augusto Rodriguez thoroughly discussed the topic on “Online Tutoring/Support and Assessment: Requirements and Challenges” being MPM Faculty in Charge. Moreover, Asst. Prof. Juvy Lizette M. Gervacio emphasized facilitating learning in the era of physical distancing through her talk.

Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio, President of ASPAP, Inc. and Dean Dan A. Saguil, Secretary General, have been providing inspiration to the said Webinar series through their messages.
