More than thirty faculty and staff from the Bonoan and Bagumbayan Campus participated in the 5-day Firefighting Training with Incident Command System lecture workshop.

The activity was organized by the Ateneo School-based Disaster Risk Reduction Management Group in collaboration with the Human Resource Management Office. The event was held last 18-22 November 2019.

Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection Naga trained the participants on how to properly extinguish fires. The said officers also taught basic first aid, bandaging, splinting, and rappelling. Rescue officials from the Naga City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Group also held a workshop on Incident Command.

Simulation exercises were also conducted to test the learnings of the participants. The week-long activity ended with the awarding of certificates for the training finishers. Aside from participation certificates, participants who completed the training will also receive a certificate of competency from the BFP Naga. The group will form part of the volunteer school-based firefighting brigade.
