The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) in coordination with the Department of Interior and Local Government-Region 5 launched the 1st of its Training Series for the month of September for the municipal level with the Training on Local Legislation on 26 – 27 September 2019 at the Bro. Richard Michael Fernando, S.J. Hall, Ateneo de Naga University.
The training aims to equip local leaders with the skills and knowledge in line with the delivery of their respective functions, thus helping them become more competent as public servants with a sense of integrity and public accountability.
True to the training objectives, the speaker, Atty. Vicente Dante P. Adan with the assistance of Atty. Jonel B. Ignacio, supplemented the participants with knowledge concerning the scope of their functions mainly as legislators. The municipalities of Gainza, Garchitorena, Sipocot, Sagñay, San Fernando, Ragay, and Balatan of the Province of Camarines Sur and Sto. Domingo and Camalig of the Province of Albay were well represented in the said training.
Throughout the two-day training, queries of the participants about Parliamentary Procedure and Drafting of Resolutions and Ordinances were acknowledged and answered with the help of the speakers.
Meanwhile, next up on the training series for the municipal level will be Training on Project Proposal Writing which will be on October 22-23, 2019.
