AdNU-CLG and Graduate School-MBA and MPA Cluster Conduct Lecture Series

The Ateneo de Naga University – Center for Local Governance in coordination with the Ateneo de Naga University Graduate School-Master in Business Administration and Master in Public Administration Cluster conducted Lecture-Series on 7 September 2019 at the Instructional Media Center (IMC), Ateneo de Naga University. The first one which was held in the morning, from 8:00 am  until 11:00 am entitled Let’s Build, Build, Build!: A Forum on the Partnership Between Public and Private Entities. There were two (2) Resource Speakers, namely Engr. Ma. Dinna Lynne L. Ordoña, Chief Economic Development Specialist of Project Development Investment Programming and Budgeting Division of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-Region 5 and Mr Eleazar E. Ricote, Deputy Executive Director of Public-Private Partnership Center who presented and discussed the topic via live streaming.

 

Engr. Ordoña outlined the goals and vision (Matatag, Maginhawa, Panatag) as reflected in our Philippine Medium Term Development Plan and AmBISYON Natin 2040 and its efforts to strengthen the economy in our local region to support the PPP Program. On the other hand, Mr. Ricote brought the topic from micro as tackled by the first speaker to macro approach to discuss the concept and the current status of the PPP Program as the central coordinating and monitoring agency for all PPP projects in the Philippines.


The participants who were mostly from the MBA and MPA Cluster of the Graduate School were able to gain significant realizations on how the partnership could affect our economy to which they expressed with the presence of our two speakers in the open forum.

elchor, President of Master in Business Administration Student’s Organization School Year 2019-2020 served as the Master of Ceremoniesa nd gave the closing remarks for the morning’s lecture. The live streaming was administered by Augustus R. Portem, Jr. of the Network Operations and Computer Services.

Another Lecture focused on China’s Emerging Power and its Impact in our Local Arena was held from 12:00 noon until 3:00 in the afternoon. The resource speaker, Dr. Marshal Q. Murillo, Faculty of Graduate School – MPA Program highlighted the possible opportunities that China can offer in the academe and its efforts to maintain its supremacy as a fast rising competitive economy in the world. Further, he presented the possible positive and negative impacts of the intervention of China with our domestic affairs.

The said activity which was participated mostly by the Graduate students from the MPA and MBA Cluster together with some College and Senior High School students were able to express their thoughts with regards to the issue, as well as raise their queries through the vigorous response of the speaker.

 

Christaine Mae A. Bael, President of the MBA Student’s Organization for school year 2019-2020 gave the closing remarks while  Jocel l. Magistrado of the MPA Program assisted the flow of the program as the Master of Ceremony for the afternoon lecture.

The Lecture Series was capped by an Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Officers of the MBA and MPA Students’ Organizations for the School Year 2019-2020.  They sworn their oath of office led by Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Program Director of MBA and MPA Cluster.
