Students and Faculty members from the Economic Cluster of the Social Sciences Department and College of Business and Accountancy attended the first Bicol Economic Congress, with the theme Ascertaining the Current States of the Bicol Region’s Economy and Economic Education. The event was held at the Bicol University East Campus, Legazpi City, Albay last 28-30 August 2019.

The Congress, spearheaded by the Philippine Economic Society, was delegated by economic institutions and think-tanks coming from the central bank, fiscal and monetary sectors, and the academes in the country.
