DICT’s Cybersecurity Caravan 2018

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) convened the last leg of the Cybersecurity Caravan 2018 in the Bicol region last Friday, 20 July 2018 in the University Gymnasium of the Ateneo de Naga University. Two previous caravans were held in Catanduanes and Albay. Students, Teachers, and professionals were invited as the caravan aim to raise the level of awareness on the importance of cybersecurity.

The event was graced by the Honorable City Mayor John Bongat and followed by the Keynote Speech of Assistant Secretary Allan S. Cabanlong (Cybersecurity and Enabling Technologies). Ms. Anjeanette Clean-Marie G. Reyes IEC Lead of DICT delivered her topic on Cybersecurity: Protecting Yourself in Cyberspace followed by Manuel Antonio Eduarte, the NBI Chief on Cyber Crime Division who is a Bicolano who shared his knowledge in the Cybercrime Act of 2012.

With initiative of the DICT Luzon Cluster 3 and in partnership with the Ateneo ICTC, the event was able to gather more than 600 participants from Naga City and Camarines Sur.
