The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance (AdNU-CLG) conducted the second batch of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Planning and Budgeting Workshop on 1-2 March 2018 at the CLG Training Room, Ateneo de Naga University. The event involved technical inputs on how to plan the programs, projects, and activities related to their Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) at the same time allocate funds for it. It was attended by 26 barangay officials coming from the barangays of 2nd and 3rd districts of the Province of Camarines Sur.
In the said training-workshop, the participants were able to understand the concepts and procedures needed in Planning and Budgeting for the Disaster Risk Reduction concerns in their barangay.
In addition to the discussion of Engr. Joel SJ. Talay of Environment, Disaster Management, and Emergency Response Office (EDMERO) of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, Mr. Chris Ian C. Pan, Field Geologist and Mr. Matthew R. Cortez, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (LDRRMO) I of the same office, presented the different kinds of geologic hazards and guided the participants in filling up the forms and templates, respectively.
The BDRRM Planning and Budgeting Workshop was conducted as a follow-up activity on the Orientation on the Salient Features of PDRRM Act of 2010 held last April and May 2017. The said activity was assisted by Jay P. Abawag and Benita Michele C. Verdadero of Center for Local Governance.
