Agap Atenista Delivers First Wave of Assistance Kits to Albay evacuees

To give further aid over the continuous outbursts of Mayon Volcano, the Ateneo de Naga University in coordination with the Social Action Center of St. John the Baptist Parish in Camalig, Albay have conducted the first wave of giving relief efforts last 4 February 2018.

During the activity, ​345 families residing in Barangay Tumpa of the said vicinity which is located within the 6-8km danger zone have received food packs and hygiene kits which were personally given by the 33 volunteers from the faculty, staff, administrators and janitors of the university. In addition, medicines were also turned over to the SAC for proper distribution.

“We are still planning to conduct a second wave of relief operations; this time in Cotmon High School,” said Mr. Elmer Sto. Domingo, director of ADNU-Center for Community Development (CCD).

Meanwhile, as of 1 February 2018, the total cash donations received for the #TabangMayon Disaster Relief Response already reached Php 283,000. CCD is still accepting cash and in-kind donations for the evacuees of Mayon Eruption. Donors may visit the CCD Facebook Page for more details.

Alert Level 4 in Mayon Volcano remains as rock fall, lava fountaining, and pyroclastic flow events are still recorded according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS).
