The Ateneo Teacher Training Center (ATTC) hosted the conduct of the Executive Course for Educational Leaders in Senior High School (ExCEL)-SHS) sponsored by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), a trustee of the Fund for Assistance to private Education (FAPE) last 8-10 December 2017 at the Alingal Convention Center and Arrupe Convention Hall.
In his welcome remarks, Bro. Raymund Belleza, OIC President, encouraged the participants to capitalize their school niche and asked them to collaborate for the survival of their senior high school programs. Ms. Rhodora Angela F. Ferrer, PEAC-FAPE Executive Director, orientated the participants of the PEAC programs and updated them on the ESC and SHS Voucher Programs.
Dr. Edizon Fermin, the overall coordinator of the ExCEL provided the intent of the three-day training/course. The course allowed the SHS administrators to (1) contemplate individual and collective field-based evidence and experiences relative to the implementation of SHS in private education context, (2) comprehend the demands of the SHS program through the lens of transformative educational leadership and school-based knowledge and innovation management, and (3) create relevant, adaptive, programmatic, integrative, and deliverable school-based innovation plans (SIPs) in developing and delivering SHS.
At the end of the program, school administrators have achieved the following enabling competencies: (1) administration of flexible and innovative program design and delivery, (2) supervision of outcomes-based assessment, (3) management of teacher-driven training and development, and (4) intensification of linkage building and management.
Other than Dr. Edizon Fermin and three trainers from Miriam College and one from Claret School in Quezon City, Mr. Honesto Bermudo and Mr. Carlo Magno Sarte of Ateneo de Naga University SHS also joined them as trainers.
The Executive Course was participated by 193 SHS administrators from the whole Region. Dr. Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, ATTC Director and PEAC Regional Program Coordinator, was the over-all-in charge of the conduct of said training with the assistance of Ms. Cornelia O. Lurcha, Mr. Gilbert L. Pado and Mr. Juilo Alberto Bricia.
