The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance conducted the Leadership Formation Training and Team Building for the Bicol Sanitarium Hansenites Organization (BSAHO) and Samahan ng mga Purok ng Bicol Sanitarium (SAPUBISA) on 27-28 November 2017 at the Bicol Sanitarium, San Pedro, Cabusao, Camarines Sur.

The training and team building aimed to help the participants become aware of their vast potentials on leadership and improve their group skills to enable them to work more efficiently with others in a cooperative effort towards the achievement of their organization’s goals.

It covered the following sessions: Self Discovery, Organizational Analysis, Work Group Effectiveness, Leadership Skills, Action Planning and Workshop Conclusion.

The participants were the officers of the BSAHO and of the SAPUBISA which are part of the custodial and palliative care services of hospital which now aims to reintegrate patients in the social community.

The facilitators were Dr. Malu C. Barcillano and Ms. Benita Michele C. Verdadero. The activity was graced by Ms. Barbara C. Callo, Head of the Administrative Services Division and by Dr. Edgardo R. Sarmiento, MPA-HEDM, CEO VI, Chief of the Bicol Sanitarium.

The said activity was part of the implementation of the social integration intervention of the Custodial and Palliative Care Committee for the admitted patients who have already completed their treatment for the Hansen’s disease cases.
