ADNU Hosts PACG-SJSA Meeting 2017

Directors of Social Involvement office from different Ateneo Universities and a representative from Bukidnon Mission District gathered together in Ateneo de Naga University last 16-17 November 2017 for the Policy Advocacy Coordinating Group (PACG) and Society of Jesus Social Apostolate (SJSA) meeting. It was also the first time that ADNU hosted the annual event.

Before the discussion, each representative gave an update on the social development activities conducted by their respective Universities and Mission District. Karlo Abadines, Program Officer of Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, then spearheaded the National Situationer in the context for PACG Ways Forward.

SJSA is a social ministry striving for a more just and human society by conscienticizing and empowering people for social changer through organization. Furthermore, PACG is a cluster among Ateneo Universities and Bukidnon Mission committed to being agents of change for the common good through social justice.*

The representatives were able to exchange views on pressing regional and national issues especially on the threat of radical extremism in Mindanao. They also identified and formulated a policy advocacy agenda which is consistent with the Philippine Province Roadmap 2016.

This gathering ended with a thanksgiving mass presided over by Fr. Robert Rivera, SJ, outgoing SEARSOLIN Director from Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan and the incoming AdNU president.
