CLG Conducts BCSS Training for LGU-Tigaon

The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance conducted the series of Basic Customer Service Skills (BCSS) Training for the Local Government Unit of Tigaon, Camarines Sur thru the leadership of  Hon. Pamela Rinah B. Fuentebella on 24-25 October 2017, 6-7 November 2017, and 9-10 November  2017, respectively  at the Cultural Heritage Center, Tigaon, Camarines Sur.

The training aimed to: (1) understand the Importance of Service Excellence; (2) discover their critical role in providing excellent service in their organization; (3) gain better understanding of customer behavior; and (4) acquire skills in handling different types of customers.

The 2-day training covered the following sessions: Service Excellence and its Importance; Developing a Customer-Oriented Service Culture; Understanding Ourselves and Our Customers; Skills in Building Customer Satisfaction; The Challenge of Service and Action Planning.

The event was attended by the front liners coming from the following offices: Business Permit and Licensing Office, Department of Interior and Local Government Operations Office, Human Resource Management Office, Local Civil Registry Office, Mayor’s Office, Municipal Accounting Office, Municipal Agricultural Office, Municipal Assessor’s Office, Municipal Budget Office, Municipal Engineering Office, Municipal Planning and Development Office, Municipal Treasurer’s Office, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Rural Health Unit, Sangguniang Bayan, and Tigaon Primary Hospital.

During the action planning, the participants identified the challenges that are commonly encountered by their respective offices, and possible steps that they need to undertake and respond upon based on their learning from the BCSS Training.

The training is one of the modules of the Public Service Excellence Program (PSEP) which was developed during the implementation of the Associates in Rural Development, Inc./ Governance and Local Democracy Project of the United States Agency for International Development.

The PSEP Trainers were Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, Dr. Alfredo C. Fabay, and Marlyn L. Tejada.
