The Ateneo de Naga University-Center for Local Governance in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Regional V Office launched the Leadership for Convergence Program (LCTP) last June 2016 and after four Modules the last stretch of the program which is the Culminating Activity was held on November 29, 2016, at the University Gymnasium. The said activity served as the graduation of the City and Municipal Action Team Leaders (C/MAT) who are all high-spirit in completing the Training Program. Out of the 114 C/MAT Leaders from Region V who participated, 95 were able to complete the training.
The Culminating activity was composed of two parts. Part 1 had the ceremony and Part 2 had the Merienda Cena. It was hosted by Mr. Francisco Rico Raquitico, a Faculty of the Nursing Department, and a LCTP Trainer and Mr. Ryan Giancarlo Macandog, a faculty member of the Department of Business Management Courses and also a Trainer, respectively.
The first part of the program started at exactly 1:30 in the afternoon with the processional of the LCTP Graduates, Coach Monitors, Trainers, Dr. Rebecca Torres the Dean of Graduate School and Arnel B. Garcia, CESO II the Regional Director of DSWD. Followed after was the Opening Prayer led by Dr. Delia Oco, Dean of the College of Nursing and also a LCTP Trainer. Dr. Torres delivered the Welcome Remarks and shortly after Garcia gave the overview of the LCTP and a short inspirational message for our graduates. After which was the public narrative of the representatives from each of the six provinces titled “Ang Paglalakbay Ko Bilang C/MAT Leader” describing their journey and reflections after undergoing the program and how they can apply their learnings in their assigned tasks. Dr. Malu Barcillano, Director of the Center for Local Governance and LCTP Trainer led the Presentation of Graduates. Each graduate have their completion sash which was asked to be worn after they have been presented. Came after was the awarding of Certificate of Completion by Class which was given by Fr. Primitivo Viray, Jr, SJ, President of the Ateneo de Naga University, Dr. Rebecca Torres, and Arnel Garcia. The Coach Monitors and Trainers were also given a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution in the success of the program. Also, given to the DSWD is a Certificate of Appreciation for choosing Ateneo de Naga as their academic partner. The ceremony ended with the Presidential Address delivered by Fr. Primitivo Viray.
The Merianda Cena followed after each class prepared a group presentation and performed during the Part II of the program. While they were having the merienda cena, the guests were entertained by the University Choir, singing Nationalistic and Patriotic songs. The program ended with the community singing of “Tagumpay Nating Lahat.”
