Last 24-28 October 2016, ADNU’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Group (SBDRRMG), with assistance from the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), organized a 5-day Basic First Aid and Life Support Training at the Nursing Amphitheater, Santos Hall. The activity is part of the major campaigns of the Ateneo de Naga University to ensure the safety and raise an awareness and response of the people against natural calamities such as flooding, earthquakes and other disaster emergencies.
The forty-five (45) participants coming from Ateneo Child Learning Center, Grade School, Junior High School Department, Senior High School Department and Ateneo Personnel learned Basic First Aid and Life support such as proper CPR for both adult and infant, bandaging and emergency techniques on transporting injured person. The Bicol Medical Center-Health Emergency Management Staff sent four registered nurses and licensed first-aiders who served as the resource persons.
Though the training was intensive, first aider participants had fun and lectured thru simulation exercises.
